I'll meet you again
2026-08-11
I’ll meet you when the war ends,
Of body and mind.
Either we meet at peacetime,
At a roadside cafe sipping tea,
Or I take you with me,
For a rare dalliance with The Supreme Being.
I’ll meet you when this fool’s errand stops:
Of me chasing a better me,
Of a better me chasing love,
Of love chasing peace,
Of peace chasing the thrill of agony.
I'll meet you when the waves die.
When a mangrove I can't be eroded off shore,
Or I embrace, forever, the deep sea,
Anchorless, not rudderless,
We meet at the ocean floor.
I’ll meet you then, you see,
Until then I'm not as me as I can be.
I'll meet you again, my love,
Until then, adieu.
